事象の特性を明らかにしようとするとき, そのバラツキや再現性に注目することがある. バラツキや再現性を表すパラメーターとして, 咀嚼系の動作学的研究では標準偏差および平均誤差が用いられることが多く, 統計学では標準偏差および標準誤差が紹介されることが多い. しかし, これらのパラメーターの使い分けに関する指標は少なく, 分析結果の解釈にとまどうこともある. 本論文は, 標準偏差, 標準誤差および平均誤差の違いを考察し, これらのパラメーター適用に対する提言を試みたものである.
As the parameters giving expression to a dispersion or reproducibility of some phenomena, standard deviation (SD), mean deviation (MD) and average variation (AV) were compared. It is proved that MD is smaller than SD, and that SD-MD ratio is fallen into a certain range of which borders depend upon only the sample numbers. Higher order-dependent nature of AV and fully order-independent nature of SD in data array are also discussed. An application of AV seems to be better to restrict to particular cases in which the valuables should also have higher order-dependent nature.
